Dianabol is the name for the oral steroid methandrostenolone. It is a derivative of testosterone which exhibits strong anabolic and moderate androgenic properties. Dianabol was first made available in the 60’s and it quickly became a favored and widely used anabolic steroid.

This protects it from deactivation by the liver (which allows nearly all of the drug to enter into the bloodstream and be utilized by the body), however it can also be extremely toxic to the liver in high dosages.
